Thermal Acquifer Storage

Posted on Posted in Projects, ScienceFinder

This project, intiated by Deltares but conducted in a consortium of partners, was assisted by IDfuse. Tijmen Altena helped to write and fine-tune their business oriented approach for an Innovation Project of Climate KIC’s innovation pillar.

These systems have provide an important tool to prevent climate change. Aquifers function as a source for thermal energy and thereby provide heating and cooling for houses, offices and other buildings. Compared to the use of fossil fuels these systems provide up to 60% CO2 reduction and provide heat and cold at a lower cost.
